PE Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with an independent school in the Salisbury area to recruit an enthusiastic and committed PE Teacher (QTS) for a September start. You will be responsible for delivering Physical Education across KS3 and KS4, promoting participation, teamwork, and a positive approach to health and fitness. Within an independent setting, there is also an expectation to contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and, where appropriate, supporting additional subject areas.
This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working in a smaller, collaborative environment and building strong relationships with pupils.
The Role:
1. Teach Physical Education across KS3 and KS4
2. Plan and deliver engaging, structured PE lessons
3. Promote student participation, fitness, and wellbeing
4. Contribute to extracurricular sports and school activities
5. Support wider school activities and, where required, other subject areas
6. Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement
7. Work collaboratively with staff across the school
8. Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
9. Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
10. Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
11. Experience teaching at secondary level
12. Enthusiastic about school sport and extracurricular activities
13. Flexible and willing to contribute across the wider school
14. Strong classroom management and organisational skills
15. Collaborative, proactive, and student‑focused approach
Contract Details:
16. Position: PE Teacher (QTS)
17. Location: Salisbury
18. Start Date: September
19. Working Pattern: Full‑time
20. Pay Rate: £32,916 – £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
21. Key Stages: KS3-KS4
22. Setting: Independent School
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
23. QTS required
24. Secondary PE teaching experience preferred
25. Experience in independent or smaller school settings beneficial
26. Safeguarding training can be provided
