Secondment/fixed term for 12 Months

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the vibrant, forward thinking Forensic Community Mental Health Team (FCMHT) which is part of the secure care services at the Rohallion Clinic, Murray Royal Hospital, Perth for 12 months.

The FCMHT is based within Birnam which is situated within the grounds of Murray Royal Hospital and is linked with Rohallion Secure Care Clinic, which represents a unique setting for secure care in that both low and medium secure care facilities are co-located in a beautiful, semi-rural, elevated site within walking distance of Perth town centre. Our values are:

• Care and compassion

• Dignity and respect

• Openness, honesty and responsibility

• Quality and teamwork

Embedding these values in everything we do will help to make our vision a reality. In practice, we need to:

• Demonstrate our values in the way we work and treat each other

• Use our values to guide the decisions we take

• Identify and deal with behaviours that don’t live up to our expectations

• Be responsible for the way we work and not just the work we do.

Our service is using the principles described within the NHS Scotland Values Based Recruitment Framework. In this regard candidates for this post should anticipate questions at interview relating to the core values mentioned above.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register with a first degree or other qualification equivalent to level 9 of Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). It is preferable that you have experience at a Band 5 within a community mental health team and be able to demonstrate clinical and professional practice. You will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of current legislation pertaining to community care and have a qualification relevant to mental health. You should be able to demonstrate evidence of professional development.

You must be IT literate and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams and work effectively within a multi professional team.

Current NHS Tayside Employee’s - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.
