Electrical Engineer

* Salary: £38,000 - £57,500
This role involves carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment and be proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining complex machinery.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on various manufacturing equipment to ensure continuous operation.
* Perform calibration, validation, and adjustments on equipment, including measurement and control devices.
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults across production machinery and associated systems.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with the engineering team to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
* Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records using a computerised maintenance management system.
* Ensure all maintenance work complies with health & safety standards, including conducting risk assessments and following safe isolation practices.
* Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
* Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
* Offer engineering support to production teams to help resolve issues and improve output.
* Collaborate with project teams to develop and improve electrical control systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in fault finding and troubleshooting on Siemens PLCs.
* Knowledge of drive systems (AC/DC) and associated controls.
* Completed Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and technical drawings.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
