POSITION SUMMARY Working in Hot Melt Department, you will be under the direct supervision of a Team Leader and above them, area supervisor. Producing Pre-Preg in line with customer requirements. The role is all about team work as Hot Melt machines are run as a team with each person carrying out a specific task. Once trained this will vary as you progress so that you learn the skills to become a fully skilled operator. 1. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES As well as the B grade duties listed below A grade operators must also cover responsibilities in the box directly below A Grade Responsibilities. Inspection training and stamp 100% sign off to PWI documents. Inputting into scanner and fully understanding the process. Fully understanding of SOC and preparation of HM machines Can operate HM machines with minimum supervision during required periods. Can set up PI sheets including populating RAW materials Regenerating stock labels. Stock overview. Conduct SAS scheme to completion Complete a job using SAP, including issuing all RAW materials after running the job. Your role is to be part of the team running either Hot Melt machine. This will involve the following tasks: Roll change. Packaging of finished goods into boxes. Making of bags, end supports and boxes and understanding packaging specs. Stop / Start controls. Understanding of the rewind end of the machines, Understanding forward and reverse controls. How to engage bottom paper chucks whilst running double poly jobs. Poly selection and positioning. Basic knowledge of SOC document. Printer set up. MSDS label and selection Understanding of the coating end of the HM machines (back dam prep etc.) Input into SAP SC Process. General machine cleaning including cleaning of the S Wraps. Setting Temps Setting up of fabrics. Understanding the Beta gauge. Basic understanding of Inspection process. Correct identification of paper types Pre-preg sampling and grid input into SAP 1. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To maintain the highest standard of professional, ethical and safe behavior. Adhering to the company's Code of Conduct policy 1. Maintaining a high standard of health and safety throughout the production environment, to include general housekeeping including 5C standards and safety observations, adhering to the site specific PPE requirements in various production areas 1. To provide cover for colleagues. 1. Observe and practice site safety and security at all times 1. Responsible for the quality of the products within your designated production area (inspection training will be given) 1. Working within a team to ensure that the daily production plan is met or exceeded. 1. Test operations of machinery including safety circuits periodically 1. Set up/changeover machines in line with SMED methodology 1. Maintain routine production paperwork as well as digital spreadsheets 1. REQUIREMENTS 1. This position requires a person with good time management, self-motivation, numerate and accurate. Good computer skills. 2. A working knowledge of working with hazardous goods 3. Must be highly organised and disciplined, a team player with good communication skills and be self-motivated. 4. Ability to work under pressure. 5. Good attention to detail 6. Proactive and self-motivated 7. Able to work to deadlines and changing priorities. 8. IT Skills - preferably SAP 9. Ability to work collaboratively across all departments 10. Be personally motivated and able to work proactively and independently 11. Strong commitment to all aspects of safety due to experience in similar environments 12. Analytical skills 13. A reasonable degree of physical stamina and strength to be able to work in a fast moving production environment 14. Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures 15. To work the existing shift pattern within Site 4 as driven by current business needs 16. The ability to switch between various production departments based on business needs 1. QUALIFICATIONS/KNOW HOW 1. Working experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous B.
