As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Production Technician to support the build, diagnosis and repair of our most technically advanced electronic products.
The Role
The Production Technician role sits within the Production team and is responsible for the assembly, diagnosis, repair, and rework of Racelogics most complex electronic products. The role focuses on resolving technical issues encountered during production build activities, including fault-finding at board and component level, carrying out repairs, and supporting build quality and efficiency, working closely with Production Operatives, Production Test, and Engineering as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble products in line with documented build instructions and quality standards.
* Complete rework and repair activities on production and returned units as required.
* Diagnose faults identified during build, rework, or returns activity.
* Carry out component-level repair and rework on PCBs, including surface mount and through-hole components.
* Use electronic test and measurement equipment to support fault-finding and confirm repairs.
* Liaise with Production Test to support the investigation of faults identified through existing test processes.
* Escalate recurring faults, build issues, or suspected design-related concerns to the appropriate function.
* Maintain appropriate records of diagnostics, repairs, rework actions, and outcomes where required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities aimed at reducing faults and improving build efficiency.
About You
* Experience working in an electronics production, manufacturing, or repair environment.
* Practical understanding of electronic circuits and systems.
* Strong fault-finding skills, including diagnosis at board and component level.
* Proven ability to carry out surface mount and through-hole soldering to a high standard.
* Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
* Ability to follow documented build, test, and repair procedures accurately.
* High attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical work.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a production team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
