We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Accountant to join our finance team in Ystrad Mynach.
Reporting to the Management Accountant, this is a well-rounded training role that offers exposure to all areas of finance. You’ll gain hands-on experience in monthly reporting, reconciliations, VAT returns, audit preparation, and budgeting—making it an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting skills and build a strong foundation for your finance career in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate revenue data.
* Conduct profit & loss analysis and compile monthly financial reports.
* Maintain fixed asset register and load trade agreement documents into system.
* Perform foreign exchange revaluations and intercompany netting.
* Prepare VAT returns and monitor daily bank statements for reconciliation.
* Support Management Accounting with inventory reserve calculations.
* Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely invoicing.
* Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation.
* Contribute to budget planning and forecasting processes.
* Handle ad-hoc finance tasks and provide cross‑functional support as needed.
Skills and Experience
* Previous experience in accounts or finance roles is essential.
* AAT Qualified (Or currently studying) or equivalent finance qualification.
* Communication skills, especially when speaking with customers.
* High attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
* Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities within the department.
