Maintenance Project Engineer Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 Bonus Scheme Excellent Benefits Location: Hull Area Hours: Monday to Friday, Flexible Hours Available – 40 hours per week About the Role We’re looking for a Maintenance Project Engineer to join our clients extremely successful team who are a global leader in industrial gases and engineering. Based near Hull, this is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically or chemically inclined engineer to lead critical upgrade and maintenance projects across our clients special gases and production facilities. This is a hands-on engineering role that plays a vital part in ensuring plant reliability, efficiency and future-readiness, offering excellent long-term development opportunities within a supportive and high-performing environment. What You’ll Be Doing Deliver and implement solutions for maintaining, upgrading and replacing obsolete or ageing plant assets Design and execute engineering projects to modernise production plants and support continuous improvement across special gases and DA processes Support the development and execution of capital projects, overseeing scope, feasibility, budgeting, resource allocation and scheduling Help manage the project lifecycle, from design through commissioning and handover to site teams Provide training to operational staff and maintenance technicians to ensure smooth integration of new equipment Supporting ongoing maintenance strategies for critical assets, helping to improve asset reliability and reduce downtime Apply safety and compliance best practices, including participation in HAZOP studies and safety reviews Collaborating closely with site-based teams, maintenance technicians and operational staff to ensure seamless handover and operational continuity What We’re Looking For A degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Progressing toward or interested in achieving Chartered status A minimum of 1-year of experience in a process, plant or industrial setting, ideally with exposure to gases, chemicals or utilities environments Prior involvement in project engineering, maintenance projects or asset upgrades Familiarity with HAZOPs or other process safety methodologies Either working towards or open to pursuing Chartered Engineering status Candidates from structured graduate schemes or with operational site-based project experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
