About the Role

As the Payroll Associate, you’ll take ownership of the internal payroll process and employee expenses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to deepen their in-house payroll expertise while working within a collaborative, people-focused organisation.


Key Responsibilities

* Serve as the main internal contact for payroll and expenses
* Partner with a 3rd-party provider for monthly payroll processing
* Compile and verify payroll data (starters, leavers, bonuses, etc.)
* Perform payroll checks and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
* Manage year-end payroll duties
* Maintain accurate internal records in line with GDPR
* Support pensions admin and auto-enrolment
* Process employee expenses and offer clear policy guidance
* Act as a payroll expert across new acquisitions during M&A activity


What We’re Looking For

Essential:

* Payroll experience and understanding of UK payroll legislation
* Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
* Strong communication and Excel proficiency
* Discretion with confidential information


Desirable:

* CIPP qualified or working towards certification
* Familiarity with third-party payroll providers and tools (e.g. Sage, ADP)
* Experience in a financial or professional services firm
