Your new role Reporting to the Head of Corporate Services and Governance for Europe, in a legal team of two, this seat with provide commercial legal advice to business units within the Fund and to assist the Legal Department in managing legal risk within the Fund internationally. This role sits separate to our Investments Legal team, focusing solely on legal matters of the Fund and its entities internationally for non-investment related matters such as service agreements/vendors, liabilities & indemnities, technology, procurement, and much more. The role has a mix of responsibilities across Legal, Governance & Compliance, Strategic Planning and Business Performance, and Stakeholder Management, including: Working autonomously and proactively providing legal advice on a range of A-Z general corporate and commercial matters Develop, review, negotiate, draft, and resolve all types of service/master supply/consulting agreements Lead on major and/or complex commercial transactions (non-investment related) Legal support for strategic projects and support on policies and procedures Support the management of external commercial matters and present to the business. This role is based on-site at London King’s Cross Estate, one of the core assets of the Fund’s global portfolio, with a hybrid work schedule. What you’ll need Culture is key at AustralianSuper, and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high performing collaborative team, in addition to: Current England and Wales practising certificate issued by the Solicitors Regulation Authority / Qualified Lawyer Law degree or equivalent Strong Private Practise / Law Firm experience within commercial/corporate space Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills. Significant experience working in a dynamic and collaborative environment Track record of providing excellent commercially focused legal support advice. Exposure working in a regulated/FCA environment Any exposure to working on US Legal matters as well as UK/Europe would be a plus.
