EQUANS are recruiting for an Plumber to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, van and fuel card and benefits package.
General Overview
The Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures within residential properties. This role ensures that all plumbing work is carried out to the highest standards, contributing to the overall functionality and safety of company properties.
Participation in Standby and Out of Hours work is a requirement of this role.
Key Accountabilities
1. Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings.
2. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, providing effective solutions.
4. Install and repair water heaters, boilers, and other plumbing-related appliances.
5. Ensure compliance with current plumbing codes and regulations.
6. Maintain accurate records of work completed, including maintenance logs and safety checks.
7. Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and ensure timely resolution of issues.
8. Communicate effectively with clients and tenants to explain necessary work and provide maintenance advice.
9. Any other reasonable management request.
10. Use of PDA system to accurately facilitate the day to day running of all tasks

Operating primarily at operative level, the Plumber's role directly impacts the functionality and safety of plumbing systems within tenant properties. They contribute to tenant satisfaction and regulatory compliance, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Complexity:
The Plumber faces challenges that require technical expertise and problem-solving skills. They independently handle routine maintenance and repairs, while more complex issues or major system overhauls may be escalated to senior technicians or supervisors. Decision-making involves assessing the condition of systems, prioritizing tasks, and selecting appropriate repair methods while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Who are we looking for?
Qualifications or Required Experience:
Essential:
19. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
20. Valid JIB card
21. Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction
22. Proven experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair work.
23. Knowledge of current plumbing codes and standards.
24. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
25. Full UK driving license.
Please be advised that the successful candidate will be required to complete a Basic Access NI check prior to commencing employment.
