Job Summary
Housekeepers are responsible to provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust. Ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery.
You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will be working in a multi-professional team and will need to be able to think on the spot and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Eligibility and Sponsorship
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa, and the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
Job Location and Hours
The post holder will be based at Hummingbird House, Harrogate and will be required to work shifts between the hours of 7am – 9am, Monday to Friday. Part-time (10 hours) role. Candidates should be highly motivated, reliable and flexible, and able to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment (essential).
* Catering and food service experience would be beneficial, with a passion for high standards of customer service.
* Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities setting (essential).
* Ability to provide a positive approach and image when working with relevant client groups throughout the Trust.
* Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or progress toward completion within an agreed timescale (essential).
* Essential: Numeracy, Literacy and IT level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grades 9-4).
* NVQ Level 2 in Housekeeping is desirable; commitment to undertake further training as needed.
Job Requirements
* Essential experience in cleaning materials and equipment, general cleaning duties.
* Experience working or volunteering in mental health or learning disabilities environment (essential); hospital cleaning experience is desirable.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH, National Standard of Cleanliness, deep-cleaning procedures, PLACE, and confidentiality.
* Able to follow protocols, demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, time management and ability to prioritise; breakaway techniques.
