Specialist Occupational Therapist - Winter Escalation

Job overview
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for an opportunity to utilise and develop your clinical skills & leadership abilities? If so, our Specialist Occupational Therapy position may be perfect for you.
The successful candidate will work within the medical team on the winter escalation ward, which is expected to be open from December '25 to March '26.
You will work alongside other occupational therapists, physiotherapists and therapy support workers. The team cover care of the elderly, gastroenterology, respiratory and general medical wards. These wards are fast paced with a high turnover of patients, and would therefore require a dynamic and holistic individual.
All of our specialist Occupational Therapists receive supervision and mentorship from a member of our highly specialist team who will offer direction in terms of clinical and leadership development.

Main duties of the job
* To assess, diagnose/interpret and manage own specialist caseload of complex patients as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with Professional Code of Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council Regulations.
* The post holder will work in close co-operation with colleagues within all Care Groups to deliver a cohesive service that is user led ensuring a consistently high standard of patient care, optimal patient flow that is safe and timely.
* To work closely with team managers and senior therapists to ensure a robust structure of training, supervision and appraisal is delivered to all members within the team.
* To act as a source of Specialist advice and support within the Therapy Centre and across the Trust and the wider health service.
* Engage or lead on projects to develop services and learning opportunities for others including band 5's, assistant practitioners, support staff and students as well as celebrating learning and achievements with the wider therapy and MDT teams.

Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Registered with Health and Care professional Council
* Evidence of experience in relevant areas of clinical practice
* Evidence of teaching/student experience
* Experience of working within the NHS
* Participated in audit and research

* Evidence of CPD detailing clinical experience relevant to the post
* Evidence of specialist level of clinical reasoning
