Llandovery College, a leading educational establishment in Llandovery, is looking for an enthusiastic IT & Data Systems Administrator to join our newly formed Digital Services team. This is a unique opportunity to blend your technical skills with critical data administration working in a supportive and friendly community.

The Role

This is a hands-on, dual-focus role. You will be an important resource for our IT and data systems, providing essential first and second-line IT support to staff and students. Crucially, you will take the lead on all aspects of our Bromcom MIS system, ensuring data integrity and providing key reports to support the entire college.

Key Responsibilities

* IT Support: Manage the helpdesk system and provide technical support for all college devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile phones.
* Systems Management: Maintain our cloud environment (Microsoft 365, Azure), manage security systems (Endpoint Manager), and ensure our IT infrastructure is stable and secure.
* Data Administration: Serve as the lead administrator for the Bromcom MIS system, managing student records, admissions data, and timetable generation.
* Teamwork: Work closely with the Director of Digital Development and college Staff to identify and implement IT solutions.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

* A minimum of 2 years of experience in a first and second-line IT support role.
* Proven experience with a data Management Information System (MIS). Training can be provided for Bromcom.
* A proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills.
* A passion for IT and a drive for self-development.

Desirable:

Knowledge of data analytics and Power BI, and experience working in an educational environment.

Job Title: IT & Data Systems administrator

Location: Llandovery College, Llandovery

Work Model: Onsite

Reports to: Director of Digital Development.

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000.

Digital services

Digital services is a newly formed department, we have been tasked with the continuation of high service standards, we welcome individuals with a passion for I.T and a pro-active approach. We are establishing a team with the passion to deliver excellence; we follow professional standards and working practices such as ITIL and change management. The role is ideal for any individual who would like to further develop their career. All digital members of the department are actively encouraged to identify, lead and implement approved solutions for the improvement of the College.

Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this hands-on, on-site, support-focused role is to serve as a key IT and data resource for Llandovery College. This involves two core functions:

1. IT Support: To provide comprehensive first and second-line technical support, resolving IT issues and assisting in maintaining all IT infrastructure to ensure a stable and reliable environment for staff and students.

2. Bromcom Systems Administration: To take the lead in administering the college's Bromcom MIS system, ensuring the integrity of all data. This includes generating reports and using data to support teaching, learning, and school-wide operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

IT & Systems Support

* Service Desk & End-User Support:

o Manage the helpdesk system and respond to all issues in a timely and efficient manner, providing first and second-line technical support to students and staff.

o Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on all college/personal devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones), ensuring a high level of customer service.

o Manage user accounts and access permissions in line with cybersecurity policies.

* Infrastructure & Security:

o Administer and maintain the college's cloud environment, including Azure and Microsoft 365.

o Ensure the security and compliance of the compute estate by managing endpoint security systems such as Microsoft Intune and Windows Defender.

o Perform regular system updates and security compliance checks.

o Support the operations of network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, switches, and printers.

o Manage daily backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.

* Operational & Collaborative:

o Maintain the IT asset lifecycle, from procurement to disposal.

o Create and update internal documentation and a knowledge base for recurring issues.

o Adhere to Incident and Change Management procedures.

o Assist with the IT and Audio-Visual setup for college events.

o Provide training to staff to promote IT best practices.

o Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably required by the Director of Digital Development, while maintaining good team working practices.

Data Responsibilities:

Revised Data Responsibilities

* Lead the operational and administration of the Bromcom Management Information System (MIS), with full responsibility for the coordination of all data and associated processes required by the college. This includes, but is not limited to:
* Managing and maintaining all student records, including admissions, achievement, and progress information.
* Liaising with staff, including the Senior Leadership Team and Admissions, to coordinate student data, class lists, and other administrative information.
* Assisting with the production of the school timetable, including data manipulation, system reconciliation, and report generation.
* Ensuring data integrity by checking for missing information and filling gaps by contacting other schools or agencies.
* Providing data analytics support to management and staff, utilizing systems such as Power BI dashboards.
* Developing and implementing policies and processes for data management and security.
* Identify and implement opportunities for process automation to improve data efficiency.
* Ensuring timely and appropriate data availability for stakeholders (e.g., parents, students, teachers, and external agencies).

Physical Demands

· This is a hands-on role that requires a reasonable level of physical activity. It involves daily walking across a spread-out college campus and the ability to safely move and install standard IT equipment such as desktop computers, monitors, and networking hardware. The role involves a mix of sitting, standing, and moving around the college campus to provide on-site support.
