Who Cares? We do.
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with passion for the profession looking for a senior role in a social care locality team? A vacancy for an Occupational Therapy Practice Consultant has arisen. The role includes providing supervision, case consultation, supporting professional development and providing guidance and support in managing complex cases to Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners.
It is an exciting time for Occupational Therapy in Adult Social Care, the focus of the Care Act on strengths-based assessments and the priority of preventing, reducing or delaying the need for formal care services places OTs at centre stage. In this role you will be working alongside the Occupational Therapy Team Manager, co-ordinating and leading the OT duty function, taking responsibility for overseeing the incoming referrals for OT and allocating cases to the OTs and OTAPs. The role provides scope for creativity and innovation in how Occupational Therapists deliver their intervention with the aim of providing an efficient, effective and value for money service.
We are an integrated Therapy Team with Norfolk Community Health and Care and have an integrated triage team to ensure that we avoid duplication of involvement and provide an excellent pathway for people requiring OT involvement. We work closely with the District councils providing housing adaptations for disabled residents and we also work alongside our social work colleagues to achieve optimum outcomes for our service users.
