Staff Nurse - Low Secure Male Ward & Blended Secure Female Ward
We're looking for compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic Staff Nurses to join our supportive multidisciplinary teams across two specialist inpatient services: a 16-bedded Low Secure Male Ward and a 14-bedded Blended Secure Female Ward.
In this role, you'll provide high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care, help service users on their recovery journey while maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and empowering environment. You'll be involved in:
* Delivering evidence‑based nursing care and care planning
* Supporting risk assessment and management within a secure setting
* Working collaboratively with the MDT
* Promoting recovery, wellbeing, and trauma‑informed practice
* Leading shifts and supporting junior staff when needed
* Championing dignity, respect, and patient involvement at every step
Candidates must be able to complete mandatory training for working in secure and forensic inpatient environments, including PMA and Immediate Life Support.
Main duties of the job
We welcome people with diverse clinical backgrounds who have experience in mental health. Skills and expertise in mental health will be valued and career progression supported.
In this role you will work alongside the MDT, manage a robust co‑produced care plan, provide proactive support for reintegration into the community, and link with third‑party services such as housing, drug and alcohol support, and attend all necessary reviews and professional meetings.
Shift work includes day and night shifts covering a 24/7 working week.
Job responsibilities
Ensure nursing practice is person‑centred and promotes patient and carer involvement. Ensure clinical practice aligns with the Care Programme Approach, identify learning needs, and remain evidence‑based. Participate in clinical audit and governance activities. Act as the named nurse for a group of patients, delegate tasks to junior staff, manage shifts, share information with the multidisciplinary team, attend meetings, provide and receive supervision, and report incidents.

Qualifications
* Nursing Degree or equivalent RN(MH)
Experience
* Previous experience of working with people with mental health needs.

* Generally motivated to work in a care environment
* Fitness to undergo PMA training and perform full duties of post
* Ability to travel independently

Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 a year gross per annum
