Technical Officer We are looking for a Technical Officer (Conservation GIS) to join the Conservation Programmes team in this full-time, hybrid working role. This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally respected charity at the forefront of international conservation efforts through our programme of land purchase and land acquisition in collaboration with our international partners around the world. Position: Technical Officer (Conservation GIS) Location: Halesworth, Suffolk / Hybrid Salary: £25,500 – £26,800 per annum Hours: Full Time (35 hours per week) Contract: Permanent Closing Date: 09:00am on Monday 2nd February 2026 Interview Date : Interviews expected to be held on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 February The Role The Technical Officer will support the development, monitoring and communication of conservation projects, working closely with the Senior Technical Officer and Director of Conservation. The role has a strong focus on spatial mapping and data analysis, monitoring our conservation projects and producing online maps and materials to support communication of our conservation impact. You will: Support the design, analysis and monitoring of our international conservation projects across a diverse portfolio of habitats and regions Undertake spatial mapping and data analyses using spatial mapping software Work collaboratively with colleagues to produce online maps and materials for publications, developing innovate maps and analyses of conservation impact If you are passionate about wildlife conservation and want to play a meaningful role in protecting threatened habitats worldwide, we would love to hear from you. About You We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled individual with a strong interest in conservation and a passion for GIS and spatial analysis. The ideal candidate will: Hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience and bring expertise in spatial analysis, including proficiency with tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS or Google Earth Engine Be a confident user of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team, delivering high quality work under time constraints Be imaginative in creating clear, compelling maps and visual materials, culturally sensitive when working with a diverse range of people, and enthusiastic about learning new skills and methodologies Above all, demonstrate a genuine passion for conservation and the mission of World Land Trust. Working in partnership with more than 50 conservation organisations overseas, it supports land purchase, land acquisition and ecosystem services projects to safeguard biodiversity while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency and accountability. You may have experience in areas such as; GIS Analyst, Environment GIS Technician, Environmental Monitoring Assistant, Environmental Monitoring Technician, Ecological Data Analyst, Environmental Data Scientist, Environmental Data Analyst, Ecology Data and Project Manager, Assistant Ecologist, Ecological Technical Advisor, Environmental Technician, etc. PLEASE NOTE: This role is being advertised by NFP People on behalf of the organisation.
