About the Role
Exeter School is the leading co‑educational day school in the Southwest, educating over 1,000 pupils aged 3‑18. We are hiring an IT Technician (apprentice) to start immediately. This full‑time position (37.5 hours per week, including one college study day) is designed as a direct route into long‑term employment: successful completion of the Level 3 Information Communication Technician apprenticeship and meeting all performance and conduct standards results in a permanent role within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide first‑line technical support for staff and pupils, resolving common hardware and software issues.
* Assist with the installation, configuration and maintenance of devices and classroom equipment.
* Support user account management and maintain accurate IT inventory records.
* Perform basic system checks such as updates, backups and security monitoring.
* Document solutions, contribute to user guides and aid technical set‑ups during school events.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated genuine interest in IT and technology with a willingness to learn in a rapidly evolving environment.
* Reliable, punctual, able to work independently and collaboratively with strong communication skills.
* Basic familiarity with Windows, macOS, Microsoft Office 365 and common IT hardware.
* Any prior experience—school, personal projects or part‑time work—is beneficial.
