Post Title: Domestic Cleaner Location: TACTILE House Department: Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions CIC Contract Type: Variable Hours Contract Salary: To be confirmed (TBC) Responsible To: Lifestyle Coordinators Liaison With: Customers, Family Carers, Employers, and Personal Assistant Staff Job Purpose To ensure TACTILE House in Corringham remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents, staff, and visitors. This role supports the wellbeing and independence of autistic individuals by maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and comfort throughout the facility Key Duties and Responsibilities Service Delivery Ensure the property is cleaned to a high standard in all required areas, supporting a safe and habitable environment. Conduct regular (fortnightly and four-weekly) deep cleaning as per the cleaning schedule. Respond appropriately to cleaning needs arising from customer stays or other activities in the house. Cleaning Schedule Fortnightly Tasks Bathroom (Downstairs): Clean surfaces, toilet, shower; sweep/mop floors; empty bin. Bedrooms (1–5): Clean/polish surfaces; sweep/mop floors. Living Room, Dining Room: Clean/polish surfaces; sweep/mop floors. Kitchen: Clean surfaces; sweep/mop floors; empty bin. En-Suite (Bedroom 5): Clean surfaces, toilet, shower; sweep/mop floors; empty bin. Four-Weekly Tasks Clean internal windows (upstairs and downstairs). Clean fridge (remove items and clean all internal surfaces). Wipe down kitchen cupboard doors. Clean micro-wave and wipe down cooker (internal and external) Health, Safety, and Infection Control Follow all health and safety policies, risk assessments, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations (COSHH). Maintain hygiene standards in line with Care Quality Commission (CQC) infection prevention and control requirements. Practice safe handling and storage of cleaning materials and equipment. Report hazards or maintenance issues promptly. Respect, Dignity, and Customer Interaction Promote and maintain privacy, dignity, and respect in all interactions with Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions CIC customers, families and visitors to the respite house.
