Traffic Management Operative
As an experienced Traffic Management Operative, you will be responsible for working on Traffic Management Schemes across various projects, ensuring smooth and efficient operations to maximize daily productivity while maintaining high Health and Safety standards. This role requires flexibility, including availability for day and night shifts, and some weekends. A responsible and proactive attitude is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all traffic management methods including Give and Take, Priority, Stop/Go boards, Portable traffic signals, Convoy working, Road closures, Lane closures, and diversions.
* Ensure all activities comply with safe working practices and best practice procedures.
* Conduct risk assessments and prepare method statements for traffic management works.
* Follow established procedures, identify areas for improvement, and report to your line manager.
* Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness.
* Promote a positive company image through professional attire, attitude, and site cleanliness.
* Show initiative by seeking continuous improvements.
* Assist the public by directing traffic safely around work sites.
* Recognize when management intervention is necessary.
Experience and Qualifications
* Lantra 12d accreditation (TTMBC, 12d M1-M5) as a minimum.
* Understanding of Chapter 8 and the Safety at Street Works and Road Works (Red Book) regulations and their applications.
* Full valid UK driving license.
* Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings related to traffic management works.
* Mechanical skills related to Traffic Lights are preferred.
