We are seeking a customer-focused individual with experience in a public-facing role to play a vital part in managing our award-winning public arts centre.
Located within the grounds of St Edward’s School, The North Wall Arts Centre features a theatre, gallery, and studios for Drama and Dance, offering a vibrant cultural hub that brings together artists and audiences from Oxford and beyond.
As Front of House & Box Office Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of front of house and box office operations, including administrative and marketing tasks. You will provide cover for Duty Manager shifts during performances and events, with specific responsibility for managing box office and bar operations, supervising staff and volunteers, scheduling rotas, and handling and logging box office and bar takings. Additionally, you will steward gallery exhibitions and ensure the building remains tidy and secure at all times.
You will need previous experience of working in a busy, customer-facing environment, along with experience of supervising staff or volunteers. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside previous experience of cash handling and reconciliation. With a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer care, you will strive to give all users of The North Wall the very best experience possible.
This is a full-time position, working 40-hours per week. The role requires regular evening and weekend working, and a flexible approach is essential as hours will vary on a week-to-week basis. Occasionally, additional hours may be necessary, and time off in lieu will be provided.
The successful candidate will start in August 2025 subject to the satisfactory completion of the necessary recruitment checks.
