Our client, a leading water sector specialist are seeking Electrical Engineers to work out of their London Paddington office.
This role is primarily working on Southern Water, but will be office based out of Paddington, with occasional site visits required as part of the role. Ideal candidates would have both design and project based experience.
Whilst water sector experience is heavily preferred, the client will consider candidates from a relevant industry, with transferable skills.
Sponsorship cannot be offered, candidates must have full RTW in the UK.
The role would be best suited to a Mid-Level Engineer with circa 4-6 years experience who is looking for the next step in their career and for progression. Whilst extensive support will be given to you, the role will also involve supporting graduates and junior engineers also.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a confident and capable Electrical (Project) Engineer with strong expertise in the electrical design of instrumentation, process systems, and system integration. You will be self-sufficient in managing your own workload and comfortable evaluating, designing, and delivering systems independently or as part of a wider project team. In addition to strong technical ability, you will be motivated to further develop your leadership and management skills, with the confidence to lead client discussions and represent the company professionally.
Key Role & Responsibilities
The Electrical (Project) Engineer will play a pivotal role within the project design team, supporting schemes across the water and wastewater sector. Responsibilities will include:
Contributing to projects across all stages, including Tender, Full Design, Build & Operate, Plant Upgrades, Maintenance, Commissioning, and Handover.
Leading technical discussions with clients, clearly outlining challenges, risks, and proposed solutions.
Communicating complex technical information in a simplified manner to ensure understanding across multidisciplinary teams.
Producing detailed technical reports and documentation aligned with client systems and requirements.
Developing comprehensive work packages for electrical installers, system integrators, and panel manufacturers to deliver project scope.
Managing and reviewing subcontractor design packages to ensure compliance, quality, and alignment with project objectives.
Supporting delivery to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
A relevant degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or a closely related discipline).
Experience within the water/wastewater sector, or transferable industrial/EICA experience from a similar process-driven environment.
Approximately 4–6 years’ industry experience in a comparable electrical or project engineering role.
A solid understanding of onsite health and safety regulations and best practice.
A full UK driving licence, with willingness to attend site visits as required
