Covering commercial properties across RAF Lakenheath (IP27 9PP), RAF Feltwell and RAF Mildenhall, Brandon, Suffolk
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a one‑week‑in‑five on‑call rota (standby fee and on‑call payments)
Role Overview
Within VIVO we are currently recruiting for an Electrician to undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks on commercial properties at RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell.
Throughout the week you will work within a team of eight other electricians, primarily undertaking PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial and single‑occupancy dormitory buildings. Your duties will also include reacting to call‑ins such as minor new works and installations (e.g., plug sockets), emergency light checks and distribution board checks.
As you will be working in commercial properties, you will interact with occupants day‑to‑day, so it is ideal that you have prior experience in a customer‑facing role.
You will participate in an on‑call rota to cover emergency call‑outs during non‑core hours. A work van will be provided for business use, which can be privately taxed for personal use.
What you’ll need to do this role
• Hold City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 in Electrical Installation, and have previously undertaken work in a commercial environment.
• Have experience conducting Fixed Wire Inspections in a commercial context.
• Pass your C&G 18th edition.
• Hold a full, clean UK driving licence (travel within multiple locations).
• Hold BPSS clearance (mandatory).
Given that you will predominantly be lone‑working, you must be independent and self‑motivated. Good communication skills are essential for a customer‑facing role.
Desirable experience includes operating within an MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment.
