Job summary
We are seeking a Clinical Fellow (FY2 Level) doctor in General Medicine to join our medical team within Local Services.
Although this post is not recognized for training, we offer support in developing a Learning Portfolio and regular educational appraisal with a Consultant Educator.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Fellow FY2 Level doctor to join the Medicine team at Southend Hospital, part of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The appointee will have responsibility for patients within the Specialty Service within Medicine.

Main duties of the job

* Liaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives, and senior medical staff
* Attend to the day-to-day management of day case and in-patients
* Participate in ward rounds
* Attend general and specialist outpatient, diagnostic, and pre-assessment clinics
* Teach medical students as directed
* Supervise, monitor, and assist junior colleagues
* Take part in rostered emergency work
* Maintain all administrative duties including correspondence, results, and discharge summaries
* Engage in continuous professional development
* Undertake and assist in audit projects
* Attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary sessions

Person Specification

Qualifications

* The applicant must have a primary medical qualification recognized by the GMC.
* Valid ILS certificate or equivalent.
* Completion of FY1 training.

Desirable

* Additional relevant qualifications e.g., ALS, ALERT

Experience

* Previous experience at Foundation level or equivalent

Desirable

* Previous clinical experience within the NHS

Other requirements

* This post is subject to a DBS check.
* Applicants requiring Skilled Worker sponsorship are welcome; further details available.
* Applicants must hold current UK professional registration.
