Over the past 20 years, Amazon has reinvented on behalf of customers and has become the largest internet retailer and marketplace in the world. NOC (Network Operation Center) is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across the Amazon transportation network. It ensures timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, NOC resolves the issue and keeps all stakeholders informed. NOC monitors network data, analyzes trends, and proposes process improvements to streamline operations. NOC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and thereby directly impacts Amazon’s ability to serve customers on time.
Within NOC’s umbrella, there is a specific arm that manages Inbound scheduling, Missing from inbound (MFI), 3P pickups, vendor returns, and invoice scanning operations across India (IN), AMET (South Africa, UAE, KSA, EGY and Turkey), Australia (AU), Japan (JP), Singapore (SG), Brazil (BR) and Mexico (MX).
Role overview
A Transportation Specialist inbound at NOC facilitates the flow of information between stakeholders (Vendors/Sellers/Inbound Supply chain/category managers/Fulfillment centers) and resolves issues that impact vendor/seller experience and business continuity. The role focuses on Inbound operations, including appointment scheduling at Fulfillment Centers requested by Vendors/Sellers/Carriers, and ensuring that trucks reach the FC for shipment delivery as per schedule. The Transportation Specialist addresses potential issues during the lifecycle of freight placement and unloading at FCs. The role requires researching internal tools, making real-time decisions, and driving vendor/seller experience without compromising on time. A basic understanding of logistics and clear written and verbal communication are essential. The candidate should be able to analyze data, identify trends, and ideate process improvements to drive them to conclusion.
Key responsibilities
* A Transportation Representative at NOC facilitates the flow of information between Warehouses/Category teams/Carriers and resolves issues impacting customer experience and business continuity.
* Works across Inbound operations, including Vendor/Carrier/FC relationship management to plan freight for delivery per appointment time.
* Addresses potential issues from forecasting to actual delivery of the appointment.
* Provides timely resolution by researching internal tools and making real-time decisions to protect customer experience.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications
* Graduation in any specialization from a recognized university.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
* Ability to communicate correctly and clearly with all customers.
* Good comprehension skills.
Preferred qualifications
* Experience in logistics or supply chain roles is a plus.
* Strong data analysis capability to notice trends and drive improvements.
* Ability to communicate clearly in both written and spoken form; customer-focused mindset.
About the team
NOC Inbound Team manages and owns the end-to-end execution of the vendor’s/seller’s shipment inbounding process. This includes appointment scheduling and prioritization, appointment sidelining and rescue, appointment modification, and related tasks across IN and ECCF countries.
