What you will do as a Consultant Transport Modeller
As a Consultant Transport Modeller, you will contribute technical expertise to a wide range of transport modelling and strategy projects. You will work with micro and mesoscopic models, supporting sustainable transport planning, infrastructure design and place‑based strategies while developing your skills within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. This includes:
* Developing, calibrating and applying multimodal transport models (primarily using Aimsun) to support transport strategies, schemes and development proposals
* Contributing to transport modelling for public transport, major infrastructure, highway design, roadspace reallocation and large‑scale mixed‑use developments

* Working closely with colleagues across disciplines and with our UK and Dutch transport modelling specialists to integrate modelling outputs into wider transport and place‑based strategies
* Sharing knowledge within the team, support early‑career colleagues and contribute to learning initiatives or industry events
What we expect from you
You are a technically capable and curious transport modeller who enjoys applying analytical skills to real‑world challenges. You are keen to grow your expertise, collaborate with others and communicate technical insights clearly to both colleagues and clients. We would anticipate your bringing:
* Some experience of contributing to sustainable, multimodal transport projects using Aimsun or similar modelling software, including model development, calibration, validation and scenario testing
* Familiarity with GIS tools for spatial analysis and clear presentation of modelling outputs
* Increasing experience of working on small to medium‑sized projects, ideally across public transport, infrastructure, highway or development‑led contexts
* Appreciation of UK transport policy and appraisal frameworks, including DfT WebTAG, and their application in transport modelling
* A relevant undergraduate degree (or higher) in transport planning, engineering or a related subject, with strong written and verbal communication skills
