SEN Teacher

Salary: £32,916 – £49,232 (M1–UPS2) per annum, depending on qualifications and experienceCategory: EducationPosition Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

A new specialist SEMH school is due to open in late 2026 (TBC), providing a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning environment for children and young people aged 5–19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school will support a small cohort of learners, creating a safe, enriching and aspirational setting where every pupil can thrive.

We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled classroom teachers (primary and/or secondary) who are deeply passionate about working with children with additional needs. The Role

As a Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to succeed. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, set personalised targets, and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

* Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
* Monitoring pupil progress and reporting to parents, carers and senior leaders
* Leading a subject or curriculum area and supporting colleagues
* Managing and supervising support staff within the classroom
* Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, equality and health & safety policies

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching within primary and/or secondary education
* Experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly those with SEMH needs
* Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum
* Working understanding of ASC and SEMH needs, including complex presentations

Desirable:

* Additional qualifications in SEND
* Experience contributing to curriculum development for learners with SEND
* A nurturing, empathetic approach and strong relationship-building skills
