Park Warden – Coate Water Country Park (Swindon Borough Council) Order Ref: OR26797 Location: Darby Close, Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, Swindon SN2 2PN Rate: £13.90 PAYE / £17.20 Umbrella (per hour) Hours: 37.5 per week Start: 4 May 2026 Duration: 6 months Overview Swindon Borough Council is recruiting Seasonal Park Wardens to support the operation of Coate Water Country Park during its busiest period. You’ll run key visitor facilities, maintain outdoor areas, and provide excellent customer service across the park. Core Responsibilities Pitch & Putt / Crazy Golf Operate the kiosk: sell tickets, use card machines, issue equipment, restock drinks/ice creams. Maintain both courses: set up/close down, operate sprinklers, mow greens/fairways, manage vegetation. Splash Park Carry out water quality checks and system cleaning. Maintain the splash pad and surrounding areas, including bins and litter picking. Monitor capacity, enforce rules, and engage with visitors. Complete toilet checks and cleaning. Wider Park Duties (when core tasks are complete) Clean toilets and BBQ areas, empty bins, litter pick. Assist with fishing checks, statutory safety inspections and vegetation management (mowing/strimming). Engage with the public, contractors and event organisers. About You Reliable, self‑motivated and organised. Confident handling cash/card machines. Strong communication skills and comfortable dealing with the public. Full UK driving licence and DBS desirable (not essential). Working Pattern Weekend and bank holiday working required (bank holidays compensated with a day in lieu). Hours: 10:30–18:30 Rest days: Shift 1: Tuesday & Wednesday Shift 2: Wednesday & Thursday
