Description ROLE SUMMARY As a non-executive member of the Board, you will be expected to play a central role in ensuring the efficient, effective and accountable governance of the organisation and play your part in supporting the delivery of the organisation's strategic direction. You will be offered the training you need to make a strong contribution. Responsibilities RESPONSIBILITIES Public Appointees are responsible for: ensuring that the public body delivers its functions in accordance with Scottish Ministers’ policies and priorities providing strategic leadership ensuring financial stewardship holding the Chief Executive and senior management team to account Further information about the role and the board can be found in the information pack. Qualifications ROLE CRITERIA For one of these posts, we are looking for a Whistleblowing Champion who can provide assurance against the National Whistleblowing Standards, as stated in Priority Criterion 1 in the applicant information pack. For both posts, you must also be able to demonstrate the following Essential Criteria: Appreciation of the variety of challenges in healthcare delivery in the Western Isles. We are looking for individuals who live in the Western Isles for the Member role. Please note that this is not necessary for the Whistleblowing Champion Member role. ABOUT US Public appointments are made by Scottish Ministers. The appointments process is regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner you can find out more about the Commissioner here: Public appointments | Ethical Standards Commissioner REMUNERATION AND TIME COMMITMENT A fee of £14,352 (non-pensionable) per annum. You will also receive reimbursement for all reasonable expenses. A commitment of one day per week (52 days per year) is expected. This time will be a mix of daytime Board meetings, committee and Integration Joint Board meetings and attending stakeholder events.
