We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Senior Hardware Engineer. The role will be based in Rochester, Kent and offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible working hours. Individual circumstances can be discussed.

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to formulate and optimise innovative hardware engineering solutions for products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors, and other safety-critical technology.
This role provides an opportunity to work on innovative projects with an experienced, diverse team, with potential career progression in the industry.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Execute complex hardware design tasks according to the hardware development plan, meeting timescales and budgets.
2. Conduct hardware requirements capture, preliminary and detailed design, including analysis tasks.
3. Coach and develop junior team members.
4. Deliver design artefacts following company and industry standards.
5. Collaborate with other disciplines within an integrated team.
6. Take on people manager responsibilities.

About You:
1. Degree/HND in electronics engineering or equivalent qualification.
2. Proven experience with digital and/or analogue electronics technologies.
3. Experience through the engineering development lifecycle from concept to certification.
4. Understanding of cost and schedule constraints to meet programme needs.
5. Good communication skills, inquisitive mindset.
6. Experience with Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise, analogue simulation tools like Simetrix or Spice, and system development tools such as Enterprise Architect, Matlab, Simulink.
Eligibility: You must hold a British passport, have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years, and be eligible for SC clearance.
