Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced MLD SEN Teacher to join a dedicated specialist school in Aylesbury. You will play a vital role in delivering differentiated and engaging learning experiences that build confidence, independence, and core academic skills.
Responsibilities
* Targeted Teaching: Plan and deliver tailored lessons that align with EHCP outcomes, focusing on literacy, numeracy, communication, and personal development.
* Inclusive Learning: Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet a range of learning needs, ensuring all pupils access the curriculum in meaningful ways.
* Collaborative Practice: Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement effective support strategies for each student.
* Communication Support: Utilise appropriate communication strategies to support students with speech, language, and communication needs, including visuals, simplified language, and scaffolding techniques.
* Classroom Management: Create a calm, supportive, and well-structured learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
* Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and track student progress, using data to inform planning and provide detailed feedback to parents and carers.
* Home-School Partnership: Build strong relationships with families and external agencies to support a consistent and joined-up approach to each student's development.
* Team Collaboration: Lead and support teaching assistants within the classroom, fostering a positive and cohesive team culture.
Qualifications
* Experience with MLD: Previous experience working with children or young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties or similar SEN needs.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential.
* Adaptable Teaching Skills: Proven ability to differentiate learning for a range of abilities and learning styles.
* Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
* Behaviour Management: Skilled in using positive behaviour strategies to support students.
