Job Summary

Are you passionate about helping vulnerable children and young people? As a Professional Practitioner for Pupils Educated Other Than at School (EOTAS), you will play a vital role in ensuring that these pupils receive the appropriate education they need. You will analyse pupil‑level data, coordinate responses for children missing education, and work closely with schools, families, and alternative providers to secure placements and monitor engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of young people across Nottinghamshire.


Role Responsibilities

* Analyse Data: Review pupil‑level data to inform decisions on admissions, fair access, and exclusions.
* Coordinate Care: Work with schools, academies, and alternative providers to ensure vulnerable pupils are supported.
* Safeguard Students: Identify risks and secure placements while monitoring pupil engagement.
* Commission Education: Arrange interim education when necessary and prepare information for panels and partnerships.
* Liaise with Families: Communicate with parents and carers to remove barriers to education access.
* Stay Informed: Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and local procedures to support compliance and mitigate risks.


Required Skills And Qualifications

* Relevant Level 3 qualifications, including GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
* An appropriate qualification to NVQ Level 3 related to children and young people, or over 5 years of experience working with vulnerable children.
* Strong skills in negotiation, evaluation, and analysis.
* The ability to prepare reports and communicate effectively with senior officers.

* Demonstrates a high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care.
* Possesses strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with colleagues, managers, and families.
* Can make decisions and solve problems effectively to meet operational targets.
