Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active nurse or midwife run the vaccination service for antenatal patients registered with HHFT. This will include running clinics on our Basingstoke site offering pertussis, RSV and seasonal flu vaccines to everyone.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a member of the Antenatal Clinic team, working within the Maternity Team to provide a maternity immunisation service and ensuring the needs of the women are met. The nurse will ensure that the service provided is of a high standard and that the environment within which the team works is safe and clean. The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies, and user representatives. The post holder will be required to participate in continuing professional development.

To participate in the delivery of the maternity staff flu immunisation program.

Education and Training

Essential criteria

1. Trained as Nurse or Midwife
2. Current UK Registration with NMC
3. Evidence of CPD

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria

4. Awareness of Health & Safety issues
5. An understanding of Safeguarding issues
6. Knowledge and understanding of data protection/confidentiality

Desirable criteria

7. Previous experience of immunisation services

Skills and Ability

Essential criteria

8. Ability to demonstrate evidence-based knowledge and application to clinical practice
9. Ability to co-ordinate & liaise within a multi-disciplinary team
10. Ability to prioritise workload
11. Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
12. Excellent written & verbal communication skills

13. Able to work across all 3 sites
14. Enthusiastic & motivated about developing vaccination programmes
