Mechanical Design Engineer to use their CAD design expertise to help engineer for manufacturing precision components and assemblies. This newly created position is to help expand operations within manufacturing and engineering. The CAD engineer will report to the technical manager and MD. A minimum of 3yrs commercial experience is required.
The CAD Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in the design, development, and support of a wide range of mechanical products—often tailored to specific customer needs. This is a hands-on role offering variety across CAD design, technical drawing, and supporting production and tooling processes.
Responsibilities:
* Designing precision components and small mechanical assemblies
* Producing 3D CAD models and engineering drawings
* Supporting design changes and continuous product improvement
* Liaising with production on tooling and assembly methods
* Providing technical input across engineering and manufacturing
Ideal Background:
* Previous experience in mechanical design, preferably with low-volume or high-integrity products
* Confident using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor or similar)
* Strong attention to detail and understanding of tolerances and manufacturing methods
* Comfortable in a hands-on engineering environment
