Further Information We have an amazing opportunity for an Apprentice Highways Inspector (Assets) to join our team at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council whilst Studying towards a Level 3 Civil Engineering apprenticeship qualification.

Working alongside our teams of Inspectors and Civil Engineers you will assist the Council, as the local Highway Authority, with the inspection, design, development and maintenance of our highways infrastructure to industry standards. Playing a vital role in keeping our highways safe and assisting in the design of highway maintenance schemes, you will learn to use computer software (such as Alloy/AutoCAD). As a member of the team, you will gain wide experience of highway safety inspections and civil engineering. With an increasing drive for sustainability, you will also consider the impact of our work on the environment.
You will be provided with all the training and support you need to be a success. We are looking for someone with the following qualifications, personal attributes, skills and behaviours:
1. 5 x GCSE at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent L2 or above qualifications) which must include English Language, Maths and a Science subject
2. Team player who is not afraid to try something new
3. ICT Skills - Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
4. Communication skills - listening, spoken and written
5. Commitment to own personal and professional development

SALARY: We pay our apprentices National Minimum Wage for Age:
6. Age 21 and over: £11.44 per hour - £22,071.00
7. Age 18 to 20: £8.60 per hour - £16,591.84
8. Under 18: £6.40 per hour - £12,347.42
CONTRACT DURATION: 39 Months
