Job Summary
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Engineer with experience in street lighting maintenance who can also work with a GIS system. The post holder will lead the delivery of project work, planned maintenance schemes and oversee reactive maintenance activity with our contractors, at Stopford House.

Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of project work and planned maintenance schemes.
* Oversee reactive maintenance activity with contractors.
* Manage a small team of 2 lighting engineers and a technician, and coordinate additional contract staff for major projects.
* Work with maintenance contractors and utility companies.
* Deal with enquiries and complaints from the public.
* Carry out street lighting column replacement and sleeving work.
* Lead LED retro‑fit projects and routine street lighting maintenance.
* Be involved in lighting improvement schemes on Section 38/278 developments.
* Conduct inspections and arrange/oversee work on site as required.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will show evidence of the following qualities:
* Managing lighting improvement schemes
* Knowledge of reactive / routine street lighting maintenance activities
* Working with maintenance contractors and utility companies
* Knowledge of street lighting & sign condition inspections / testing
* Working knowledge of a GIS system
* Awareness of street lighting scheme design process
* Knowledge of lighting & sign design specifications and material selection
* Awareness of national standards and guidance documents relating to lighting & sign maintenance
* Understanding of street lighting electrical mains supply
* Demonstrable numeracy, literacy and ICT skills at HNC level or equivalent
Salary and Benefits
SO1 – SO3 (£34,443 – £45,091) starting salary, dependent on level of experience, with opportunity to progress within the range. This role is eligible for an Essential Car User allowance.
