Job Overview
The Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS) manages essential Environmental Monitoring systems and datasets. As a Technical Advisor, you will support users, maintain datasets, and contribute to system improvement projects.
Responsibilities
* Set up and manage users
* Support users and resolve issues, especially during transition to the new My Environment application
* Update, improve, and maintain datasets
* Respond to internal and external data requests
* Support system improvement and upgrade projects
* Analyse and improve data that underpins our work
* Provide training and participate in incident response duties
Qualifications
* Experience working with large complex datasets
* Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems
* Motivated, organized, friendly, helpful, detail‑oriented, comfortable working in a dispersed team environment
* Proactive and problem‑solving mindset
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical information to technical and non‑technical audiences
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service
Desirable Experience/Skills
* Experience using and managing environmental monitoring data systems
* Experience using PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R
* Working knowledge of water quality monitoring
