PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £28,000 - £32,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Purpose of the Role
Join BBC Studios’ Motion Gallery team and help unlock the commercial potential of the world‑renowned Natural History Unit archive. As an Online Archive Clip Specialist (Media Coordinator), you’ll uncover standout moments from decades of extraordinary wildlife filmmaking, transforming them into high‑value clips for global licensing. Your work ensures this iconic archive continues to grow, thrive and inspire audiences and creators worldwide.

You’ll collaborate across production, sales and archive teams, developing specialist expertise while contributing to the preservation and commercial success of a world‑class resource.
Key Responsibilities and Impact
* Support the Product Development Executive in shaping and delivering the Natural History selection strategy.
* Research, review and select premium footage from the NHU archive, ensuring strong commercial value.
* Prepare, process and export clips to required technical standards, maintaining exceptional quality.
* Publish content to Getty Images with optimised, accurate metadata that enhances discoverability.
* Identify new content opportunities through sales insights, market trends and performance analysis.
Essential Criteria
Your Skills and Experience
* Strong knowledge and interest in Natural History, including ability to identify species and habitats.
* Experience using editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and understanding of production workflows.
* Ability to interpret rights, clearances and production paperwork to ensure compliance.
* Skilled at prioritising workloads, meeting deadlines and working independently within a team environment.
* Strong communication skills, creative thinking and attention to detail in cataloguing and metadata.
Desirable but Not Required
* Familiarity with BBC archive systems and library resources.
* Experience selecting or curating content for a commercial stock footage library.
* Knowledge of Natural History production techniques, cameras and file formats.
* Experience assessing visual material for quality, composition and subject relevance.
* Biology or Zoology qualification or equivalent subject‑matter expertise.
