Responsibilities
Barts Health NHS Trust is recruiting a Band 6 Pharmacy Digital Project Coordinator to support the implementation, optimisation, and ongoing rollout of Electronic Prescribing Systems (EPS) across clinical areas. The postholder will work within the Pharmacy Informatics Team under the supervision of the Lead Pharmacist for Informatics and the Pharmacy Digital System Data Specialist.
The role includes implementing, configuration, testing, validation and maintaining EPS; delivering training and hands‑on support to pharmacy, ICT and multidisciplinary clinical teams; monitoring system performance; identifying issues and proposing improvements; and contributing to governance, policy and medicines safety activities.
In addition, the postholder will develop training materials, assist with user support, support troubleshooting and problem resolution, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the safe, efficient use of electronic medicines systems.
Person Specification
* Qualifications (Essential)
o BTEC level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent
o MPharm (Master's Degree)
o Registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
o Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.
* Qualifications (Desirable)
o Project management qualification e.g. Prince2 or equivalent
* Experience (Essential)
o Relevant hospital pharmacy/medicines management experience
o Experience of working in an MDT setting
o Experience of delivering audit
o Experience of delivering projects
o Experienced at developing effective working relationships with a wide range of staff
o Experience supporting training and user support for staff.
* Experience (Desirable)
o Experience with working with an EPS
* Knowledge (Essential)
o Knowledge of hospital medicines management processes, including prescribing, medicines administration and reconciliation.
o Knowledge of electronic prescribing systems, particularly CLEO, and their role in improving medicines safety.
o Understanding of medicines safety principles, governance and incident reporting processes.
o Knowledge of relevant medicines legislation, policies and standard operating procedures.
