We are looking for the most innovative, forward-thinking Engineer II with a growth mindset and an appetite for challenging our approach to software development. Our team uses a variety of tech stacks and works with code, data, and configuration to rapidly deploy capabilities across EMEA markets to fill critical market needs using an InnerSource model. The successful applicant will be experienced software engineers with a curiosity for diving into new codebases and working in a variety of technologies to power and protect the growth of our International Card Services business.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver features with a focus on quality, predictability and throughput
2. Work in a nimble, agile environment which embraces uncertainty and evolving requirements
3. Collaborate with engineers from other teams to align on design and contribution guidelines
4. Identify engineering challenges and drive them from ideation through to delivery
5. Perform technical discovery work prior to work being brought into the backlog
6. Ensure our solutions are testable, intuitive and easy to maintain
7. Drive good engineering principles, patterns, and practices
8. Be an advocate for great developer experience
9. Participate in design and code reviews
10. Celebrate team achievements and failures
11. Designs, develops, tests, and debugs software applications and systems
12. Completes software builds through consistent development practices, including the use of tools, common components, and documentation with guidance from peers and leaders
13. Completes code reviews and automated testing to maintain high-quality code standards with guidance from peers and leaders
14. Supports and monitors software across test, integration, and production environments
15. Adheres to security and regulatory best practices to ensure software compliance
16. Collaborates and co-creates effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectives
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
17. Proven track record of delivering great software solutions
18. Depth of knowledge and ability to demonstrate hands-on coding in at least one language from Java, Kotlin, Go and Python
19. Application design, software development, and testing experience in an agile environment
20. Excited by learning and experimenting with new languages and technology and translating this into working software
21. Willing to take risks and share fresh perspectives
22. Self-directed and able to work in an ambiguous environment through the innovation process
23. Values collaboration and puts team interests first
24. Contributions to open source/InnerSource projects is a plus
25. Experience in application design, software development, and automated testing
26. Experience in object-oriented design and coding with variety of languages
27. Experience in distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
28. Experience in Agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user stories
29. Experience in automation testing and documentation (i.e. automated, functional, and performance)
