Grade 4 (Scale Points 5-9)
Actual Salary: £17,892 to £19,060 (pay award pending)
Full-Time (30.5 hours per week)
Term Time plus Five Additional Days (195 per annum)
To commence September 2025

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team to work as a Student Welfare Officer as part of our Inclusion Team. The role of Student Welfare Officer is key in providing support for students who need help in overcoming barriers to learning and developing their potential by raising standards of behaviour for learning.
The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For
* To be the first response to students through the On Call system for everyday issues and appropriately triage and follow up matters, to ensure issues are resolved
* To carry out investigations into reports of poor behaviour and make the necessary recommendations and actions
* To ensure the behaviour management system is implemented consistently, through providing support and guidance to staff
* To supervise the Isolation Room, ensuring students follow the Isolation rules and expectations
* To ensure appropriate learning programmes are in place for all students who complete an Isolation placement
* To maintain effective records of behaviour incidents and the appropriate actions
* To coordinate all referrals to isolation and communicate this effectively to all stakeholders

The Following Qualifications And Experience Are Essential
* GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Grade C or above
* Experience of working with students
* Good ICT skills
* Tact and persuasive skills
* Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Baysgarth School is currently an 11-16 comprehensive with over 1,000 students on roll. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate pride, passion and positivity and a desire to ensure the school has the highest possible reputation in the local community and beyond.
