Primary Purpose & Scope
As a Senior Group IT Engineer within our Core Tech Team, you'll be pivotal in implementing and supporting IT systems, cloud and hybrid services, databases, and networks. Your responsibility will extend to managing and delivering regional and group projects, ensuring the seamless operation of TCC Global IT services.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Ownership of infrastructure-related projects and workstreams within wider projects, management of 3rd party specialist consultants
2. Support of TCC Global IT services from infrastructure through to end user, ensuring that requests for assistance, changes and problems are properly logged and responded to promptly and according to agreed standards and procedures
3. Requirements gathering, specification, procurement, implementation, testing and documentation for new IT systems, cloud and hybrid services, databases and networks
4. Manage services in our London data center, including backups and disaster recovery tests.
5. Managing MS Azure services including DAS networks, firewalls, VPN gateways, and computing.
6. Selection and management of suppliers for hardware and backend services. Ownership of support & maintenance and contracts
7. Hands-on Management of operational maintenance including updates, backup and monitoring of Windows Servers, Linux, Azure Resources, Switches, Routers, and Storages.
8. Implementation of new Applications, Systems and Services into existing environments
9. Supporting security by treating hunting and prevention
10. Propose and work on constant innovations, latest technology and architectural changes
11. Support security by implementing best practices and following processes
12. Setup and configuration management in Office 365, Azure, AD, AAD, and vSphere.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, you should have:
13. Around 5 years of experience as an IT Engineer.
14. Minimum 10 years in an IT infrastructure role.
15. Ability to communicate effectively with senior staff and stakeholders.
16. Expert level expertise with the latest versions of Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Identity/ Entra ID, Azure
17. Intermediate level expertise with NetApp storage technologies, SD-WAN, MS SQL Server (always-on), MS Office 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint etc), Linux, and vSphere on a VCP level
18. Basic understanding of treat-hunting techniques
19. Microsoft Office365/ Windows/ Azure on an expert level
20. Knowledge of IT data security, enterprise management tools and best practice
