Job Title: Assistant Cook

Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time (16 hours per week)
Reports To: Catering Manager

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing and serving meals, enjoy working in a busy environment, and be able to work collaboratively while maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and present meals to a high standard
* Collaborate with the Catering Manager on menu planning
* Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
* Manage stock rotation and temperature checks
* Supervise catering assistants and ensure compliance with duties
* Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with Health & Safety regulations
Essential Requirements:
* Recognised Catering Qualification
* Food Hygiene Certificate
* Minimum 2 years' experience as a Cook in catering or restaurant industry
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
* GCSE English (A-C or equivalent)
* Experience in a Nursing/Residential Home
Skills & Knowledge:
* Knowledge of HACCP, food allergens, and special diets
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Ability to cater for functions and offer alternative choices at short notice
