The post holder will have an important role in this large and dynamic team that includes a team of Nurse Endoscopists, Gastroenterology Consultants, Colorectal/Upper GI Surgical Consultants and a large nursing and HCSW team.
This role requires an active UK NMC Registration. All staff recruited are expected to be available to work flexibly across all Trust locations when service demands require it.
Base Location: Poole. Interview Date: TBC.
Poole Hospital Endoscopy Unit consists of 3 procedure rooms. Royal Bournemouth Hospital has 3 procedure rooms and Wimborne has 1 procedure room. Across sites we provide diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI procedures, respiratory procedures like bronchoscopy, EBUS and thoracoscopy. We also do complex procedures including Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and the Bowel cancer screening programme.

In some cases this means that a service may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.

Responsibilities

* Contribute to diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI procedures, respiratory procedures (bronchoscopy, EBUS, thoracoscopy), and complex procedures (EUS, ERCP) and the Bowel cancer screening programme.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum of 12 months experience in an acute setting (preferred).
* Previous endoscopy experience may be advantageous but is not essential as training and competency assessment are provided.
* Active UK NMC Registration.
* Flexible availability across all Trust locations as required by service demands.
* Base Location: Poole.
