Location: Kingswinford, West Midlands
Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00
• Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
• 37 hours per week standard
• Overtime paid at 1.5x after 37 hours

Pay: £17.00 – £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Plater / Welder to join a highly skilled fabrication and machining team within a modern, ISO-certified engineering facility.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-integrity, heavy engineering projects used across critical industries including nuclear, subsea, oil & gas, mining, scientific research, and power generation.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG and TIG welding in accordance with BS EN ISO 15614-1:2017+A1:2019 procedures
• Work to and maintain certification standards in line with BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017
• Fabricate heavy steel components from carbon and stainless steel (6mm – 100mm thickness)
• Assemble and fabricate structural steelwork including beams, columns, channels, and angles
• Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely and efficiently
• Produce welds that meet strict NDT inspection requirements (DPI, MPI, UT as required)
• Work closely with engineering and inspection teams to ensure all work meets specification and quality standards

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding
• Strong background in heavy fabrication and structural steelwork
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and weld procedures
• Experience working to BS EN ISO welding standards (or willingness to achieve certification)
• Confident using cranes, slings, and lifting equipment
• Understanding of non-destructive testing methods (DPI, MPI, UT)
• Strong commitment to health & safety and quality workmanship
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a skilled team
