This is a unique opportunity to lead our recruitment service while progressing a high-impact project focused on early careers, future talent and outreach! About the role The University of Bath's strategic vision to become an outstanding and inclusive institution, driving excellence in research and education whilst fostering strategic partnerships, depends fundamentally on attracting and retaining exceptional talent. We are seeking a Talent Advisor who shares our commitment to excellence and innovation, and who will play a vital role in bringing the right people into our organisation to deliver on our ambitious goals. As a Talent Advisor, you will collaborate with your Talent Advisor colleagues, the Talent Acquisition Specialist and Deputy Director (Talent) to continue the development and delivery of an "always-on" recruitment strategy, continuously attracting high-quality candidates whilst adapting your approach to meet the diverse hiring needs across the university. You'll join a driven and successful talent acquisition team that has grown from zero to six in three years, creating the nucleus of a collaborative, motivated and highly performing talent function that operates within the wider recruitment team. Yet there's still tremendous opportunity to make an impact, bringing fresh ideas, learning from experienced colleagues, and contributing to a team where a drive for excellence in recruitment is matched by an environment built for growth and development. You will own the delivery of recruitment projects across various functions, focusing on sourcing and assessing candidates within defined timeframes. One week, you might be talent pooling for Technicians; the next, you could be recruiting for a Lecturer in Machine Learning. This role will allow you to engage with influential individuals within the university and become an expert in various markets, mapping them comprehensively to identify and attract top-tier candidates. About You You'll be a solutions-oriented individual who can navigate beyond rigid policies, with an open, curious mindset to ask questions that no-one else would ask, and who can engage comfortably in ambiguous situations. A natural problem solver with a detective mindset you will provide collaborative advice on best recruitment practices. Your efforts will help us anticipate candidates' career trajectories, offering them opportunities beyond what they had imagined. Further Information This is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave, with an anticipated end date of April 2027, or the early return of the postholder. For an informal discussion about the role please contact Francis Ondoro, Talent Acquisition Specialist ( fo315@bath.ac.uk ) or Sarah Sutton, Deputy Director (Talent) ( sjs95@bath.ac.uk ). Interviews will be held week commencing 16 March. About the team Join our small, agile Talent Acquisition team and make a meaningful impact across the university. Be part of a transformative approach to recruitment that prioritises innovation and inclusivity.
