To support the exciting Data strategy at Softcat, the Data Services team are looking to continually improve all things related to Data and analytics for the next 3-5 years. To support that, we are looking to expand the team.

As a Junior Data Engineer, you will support the BAU activities within the team, such as helping action and triage Service Desk tickets and Data Access Requests relating to our data and reporting estate. This will include bug fixes and the implementation of new functionality as well as enhancing our existing documentation repository.

This is a hands-on role, aimed at someone starting their data career. The role will enable you to gain technical skills such exposure to data warehousing, modelling, cloud and visualisation concepts as we support teams across the business.

Aside from this, you will have the opportunity to work alongside more senior engineers on the team, who will be able to help mentor you in industry best practices.

We'd love you to have;

* Knowledge of SQL (e.g SQL Server or Databricks SQL).
* Knowledge of Python.
* Knowledge of data modelling, ETL and data warehousing concepts.
* Good communication and writing skills.
* Comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
* A curious mindset and enjoys learning.
