An opportunity has arisen for a Tool Maker (CNC Machinist) to join our Toolroom Department at the award-winning manufacturer Liniar Ltd, based in Denby, Derbyshire – a subsidiary of the US-based Quanex group. This position plays a key role in ensuring production quality, efficiency and tooling reliability.
Liniar is an industry leading PVCu extrusion company, designing and supplying a large portfolio of PVCu and aluminium profiles and products to a nationwide customer base of specialist window and door manufacturers, housebuilders, decking installers, landscapers and trade outlets.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Be able to read engineering drawings to produce parts required using Lathes & drills, milling ma-chines, grinding machines to manufacture precision components.
* Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; adjust, as necessary.
* Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools.
* Set up and operate conventional, CNC or NC machine tools such as lathes, WEDM machines, mill-ing machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to given tolerances and specifications.
* Inspect finished dies and calibrators for correct fittings, surface finish, contour conformity, and de-fects.
* Program using fusion software to set up, run, monitor, and adjust Hurco CNC machine
* Ensure all extrusion tools and dies meet quality standards and are within tight specified tolerance
Key Skills:
* Strong proactive approach.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Ability to problem solve.
* Basic numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.
* Good communication and listening skills.
* Good attention to detail and hand to eye co-ordination.
* Ability to use precise measuring instruments.
* Experience with Hurco or XYZ CNC millers.
* Experience using fusion 360 and AutoCAD programming software (training can be provided).
* Experience interpreting 3D models (Fusion stp files).
* Minimum Level 3 Qualification in Engineering/ Apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Mechanical Engineer-ing,
* Proficiency in all types of precision machining
* Know the strengths and characteristics of metals and other materials, what the different cutting tools can do when working with a variety of materials and knowledge of manufacturing processes, espe-cially the uPVC industry would be beneficial.
* Previous experience of working in manufacturing / uPVC would be beneficial.

Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Salary: Up to £17.52 p/h dependant on experience.
