Service advisor – Kings Langley
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, immediate start
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 18:00 (1-hour lunch)
Location: Kings Langley, Hertfordshire
About the Role
Based on the front desk in reception of our busy, family-run garage, you will be working alongside our service manager as a point of contact for our customers. You'll play a key role in shaping their experience, from the initial enquiry and booking through to vehicle collection.
Whether face-to-face or over the phone, you'll be committed to delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring every customer feels informed, valued, and confident in the work being carried out. You will liaise closely with technicians, third-party suppliers, and other team members to ensure a smooth, well-communicated process throughout each job.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can balance customer care with sales awareness and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
· Act as the first point of contact for customers, providing a warm, professional, and welcoming service
· Book vehicles in for servicing, repairs, and diagnostic work efficiently and accurately
· Keep customers informed and updated on the progress of their vehicle
· Review vehicle health checks thoroughly and recommend additional work where appropriate
· Manage customer expectations and deliver unexpected or sensitive news with confidence and empathy
· Liaise with technicians and third-party suppliers to ensure accurate information is relayed to customers
· Handle invoicing, payments, and vehicle handovers professionally
· Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure a smooth workflow
