Role Overview:
As the Play Café Assistant, you'll be supporting management so that every session runs seamlessly. Your role will be hands-on, from preparing dishes, checking in guests, taking orders on checkout and fulfilling orders, helping to host parties, keeping our cafe and play area tip top clean and supporting a smooth workflow. We're seeking someone who can think on their feet, prioritise, has a keen eye for detail, someone who can roll up sleeves and deliver the stellar customer service and clean space our customers are accustomed to.
Prior experience in café or a similar environment is crucial, along with a solid grasp of food safety and hygiene protocols.
Work Schedule: Flexible via Rota Monday- Sunday from 8.30am to 3.30/5.30pm select shifts available
Core Responsibilities:
Supporting daily café operations efficiently, take and process customer orders, serving food and drinks. Managing stock levels and ensuring we are well stocked ahead of time, alaerting management of any stock issues, dealing with customer queries and complaints with great customer service.
Help to ensure the transition between session is seamless and our cafe is a clean and safe environment for customers.
Adapting to the ever changing and fast paced working environment, fostering a positive work ethic.
Strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards is a must, Help to minimize waste and use initiative. Collaborate with management to develop and implement ideas for the café's menu.
Ensure our play area is reset and sanitised to the high standard our guests expect.
Organise and carry out weekly deep cleans of cafe and staffing areas.
Create a welcoming atmosphere, catering to the needs of families with young children Address customer inquiries and promptly resolve any issues with the support of management.
Generally be eager to contribute as team player, willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved with all areas of the job.
What are we looking for?
Experience in a café or food service setting. Knowledge of food safety regulations
Essential- DBS Check
Ability to perform efficiently with high attention to detail
Passion for delivering outstanding hospitality
Positive, energetic with a proactive attitude with enthusiasm for a family-friendly environment
Enthusiastic individual with passion in your role, helping to create a great atmosphere in the café.
Collaborate effectively with your colleagues as a team player, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
Work closely with management, develop and realise new ideas from Menu options, Drinks menu, seasonal events and much more If you are creative, you will be an amazing candidate
Deliver exceptional service to ensure our visitors have a memorable experience, encouraging repeat custom and upsells.

Be able to address customer issues tactfully and delivery great customer service even with difficult situations or enquiries.
