EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As our Strategy and Sustainability Business Lead you will be responsible for driving the growth of Severn Trent Services (‘STS’) by identifying opportunities for expansion and spearheading strategic initiatives. You’ll champion our commitment to sustainability and ESG matters, ensuring growth opportunities and activity aligns with our environmental and social goals.
Additionally, you’ll work in partnership with the five established P&L businesses in the STS portfolio, fostering a culture of collaboration and teamwork to drive collective success.
The other key accountabilities of the role are:
1. Develop, set, and execute STS’s overarching strategy and roadmap with sustainability at its core, setting out key deliverables and timelines and securing buy-in from senior stakeholders.
2. Work in partnership with the five established P&L businesses to identify and assess growth opportunities that deliver our strategy. Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to align strategic initiatives and ensure seamless execution.
3. Set the requirements and drive the STS sustainability agenda by working with STS businesses and key stakeholders. Make recommendations for STS policy and commercial decisions based on data and insight.
4. Develop and nurture relationships with potential clients, partners and stakeholders to drive business growth, while identifying and securing opportunities for STS such as external partnerships, alliances, acquisitions and other innovation opportunities.
5. Keep pace with external market development and direction, identifying key growth areas, market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision making. Maintain knowledge of external ESG and Sustainability matters within the global economy.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To succeed in this role, you’ll have excellent leadership skills to successfully create, inspire, and lead. You’ll also have knowledge of water and wastewater operations and/or experience within the water sector or other utilities other utility sector.
You’ll need to be self motivated, creative, and curious and have the ability to form strong working relationships, collaborations, and strategic alliances both internally and externally to execute and deliver growth projects.
As travel is required, you’ll also need to hold a full driving license.
